2006 GOV GELDING, SIR DONNERHALL-ALABAMA/SILVERMOON

A 2006 Oldenburg gelding, “Fender” was bred in Kentucky by Donna Garner at Chinook Arch Farm. He was by the top Oldenburg breeding stallion Sir Donnerhall, whose dressage score at his 70-Day Test is the highest recorded to date – 163 points.

His dam, Alabama, was a performance Danish mare in training in Europe. Her sire, Silvermoon, was an elite Trakehner stallion most known for his famous WEG medal winning daughter, the late and great Blue Horse Matine.

With top scores all the way up the levels, Fender’s career with Lauren culminated in top placings in the Small Tour at the 2015 USDF Finals, as well as the Region 1 Champion for The Dressage Foundation’s Two-Tempi Challenge. He then transitioned to a schoolmaster for his amateur owner, giving several of Lauren’s students the chance to try their hand at the FEI work, including helping three to scores for their USDF Silver Medals.

Fender passed away due to colic in August of 2018. He was a cherished teacher and friend, and is missed every day.
