The first time Lauren saw a video of Nightwatch, she… wasn’t impressed. He was a “soup sandwich,” a collection of parts, largely eclipsed by the size of his head. But Katelyn Kok, the trainer who started him under saddle, kept nudging Lauren about him, until one day, a few months later, she sent another video. He wasn’t just head anymore! So Lauren bought him sight-unseen, and arrived at her doorstep half a hand taller than she expected, skinny as a rail from the stress of the trip, and unbelievably sweet and affectionate. He was christened Velcro, and he’s growing into that noble noggin – and his exceptional talent – quite nicely!
